As soon as Zhou Xuan finished speaking, the little novice monk, who was being held in the arms of the golden Buddha, floated to the ground, his tender, white feet touching the ground the instant he touched it.
The young novice monk, radiating pure Buddhist light, possessed a dignified and solemn appearance.
After walking a few steps in each of the four directions, I arrived at the side of the immortal Bodhi tree that was undergoing transformation.
One finger pointed to the sky, the other to the earth, and he slowly spoke:
"I am the only one in heaven and on earth!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the young novice monk, who called himself Shakyamuni, raised his hand and formed a mudra, gently pointing towards the talkative imperial weapon, the Vajra Pestle, and the place where Venerable Kasyapa was sealed.
With a single seal, the seal placed by the golden Buddha was easily lifted by the young novice Shakyamuni.
The Vajra pestle, now free, flew over in a flash, hovering in front of the young novice Shakyamuni, and said:
"You, you, are you the Emperor?!"
“Amitabha Buddha is my past life, the Amitabha Buddha of the past. In this life, I am Shakyamuni, the Buddha of the present.”
As soon as the talkative emperor's weapon, the Vajra Pestle, finished speaking, Shakyamuni, who appeared to be no more than a year old, raised his hand and stretched it out towards the Vajra Pestle, saying:
"If you think I am, then I am; if you think I am not, then I am not."
The tender little hand reached out towards the supreme imperial might that erupted, and the infinitely powerful demon-subduing pestle instantly...
The Vajra Pestle instinctively restrained its supreme imperial power, unwilling to harm this reincarnation of the Amitabha Buddha Emperor, and allowed him to hold it.
The moment the tender little hand gripped the Vajra Pestle, the Vajra Pestle, which had instinctively restrained its supreme imperial might, suddenly erupted with overwhelming power.
This is not the divine power controlling the imperial weapon, but rather the moment the imperial weapon is held by its master, the great Dao within the imperial weapon resonates with the forger of the imperial weapon.
"Your Majesty, you've finally returned!"
The moment the supreme imperial might erupted, his form shrank to the size of the vajra pestle that the young novice Shakyamuni Buddha held perfectly in his palm, and he said with great excitement:
Do you know how long I've waited for you?!
"Woooooooo..."
Clearly, at the moment when the young novice Shakyamuni resonated with the Great Dao within the Vajra pestle, the Vajra pestle recognized the young novice Shakyamuni as his master.
As the imperial soldiers recognized their master, they wept bitterly.
Venerable Kasyapa, whose seal had been lifted, also flew over and gazed at the immortal Bodhi tree that stood beside the celestial bud, with a golden Buddha standing behind him, holding the imperial weapon, the Vajra Pestle.
Although his form was small, his entire body radiated the power that his master had expended to cleanse himself before lying in the yellow clay coffin, so that he could successfully attain the Great Dao of the Emperor.
Sensing the Dao aura within his body, which he had so steadfastly maintained and which had caused his master to abandon, and looking at the young Shakyamuni monk with his red lips and white teeth in front of him, Venerable Kasyapa hesitated and stopped, not daring to step forward.
Seeing that Venerable Kasyapa had stopped in his tracks, the young novice Shakyamuni smiled slightly and spoke:
"Little Leaf, you're getting old!"
Logically speaking, Venerable Kasyapa, who had lived for countless years, consumed the elixir of immortality, and ruled the Buddhist sect of the Western Desert for nearly ten thousand years, should have already attained Buddhahood and his emotions should be as calm and undisturbed as a still pond.
However, upon hearing these words from the young novice Shakyamuni,
The elderly Venerable Kasyapa's wrinkled eyes widened instantly, followed by a burst of crystalline lightning from his eyes.
"Pfft!!!"
In the instant he broke down in tears, Venerable Kasyapa knelt on both knees, his forehead touching the ground as he kowtowed and spoke:
"Disciple Kasyapa respectfully welcomes Master's return!"
"During the years you slept on the ancient star, Ye Zi has been diligently managing the Buddhist sect."
"Although the number of followers of our Buddhist sect is not as widespread throughout the universe as when our master was alive, the Western Desert is still under the control of our Buddhist sect."
With tears streaming down his face, Venerable Kasyapa, like a prodigal son returning home and seeing his family, recounted incessantly his experiences over the years to the young novice Shakyamuni:
"During the years you slept on this ancient, desolate planet, the Buddhist teachings flourished everywhere..."
Listening to Venerable Kasyapa's story and seeing the tears welling up in his eyes, the young novice Shakyamuni stepped forward and gently stroked Venerable Kasyapa's wrinkled, bald head, saying:
"Little Yezi, you've suffered so much these past years."
"Waaaaah~!!"
Hearing the caring voice of the young novice monk Shakyamuni, the tears that Venerable Kasyapa had been holding back burst forth again, and he even let out a sobbing cry:
"Master, you are finally back!"
"..."
After a long while, Venerable Kasyapa finally stopped crying and weeping, and looked at the young novice Shakyamuni holding the vajra, saying:
"Master, I sense that something is wrong with you..."
"I dispersed the Great Dao of the Amitabha Buddha Emperor from my previous life. Part of it was integrated into the body of the Cautious Buddha, and part of it was returned to all living beings in heaven and earth."
As Venerable Kasyapa uttered this question, the young novice Shakyamuni, whose entire body was surging with the power of the Dao, smiled and said:
"Not only the Dao Fruit of my past life, but also the memories of my past life, and the body of my past emperor, I will sever them one by one..."
Upon hearing this, Venerable Kasyapa's eyes widened and he exclaimed:
"Master, you..."
Not only Venerable Kasyapa, but also the vajra held by the young novice Shakyamuni Buddha was violently vibrating.
"All forms are illusory. If one sees all forms as non-forms, then one sees the Tathagata."
With a gentle press of his hand, the young novice Shakyamuni, whose movements of the Vajra pestle had subsided, looked at Venerable Kasyapa and spoke:
"I have spent my years, yet I still cannot see the way forward."
“My eyes are blinded by my accumulated knowledge, therefore I will cut off wisdom, sever ties with cause and effect, and start anew.”
"Namo Amitabha."
Seeing the resolute look in the eyes of the young novice Shakyamuni, Venerable Kasyapa took a deep breath, clasped his hands together, and slowly spoke:
“Disciple Kasyapa follows the Buddha’s teachings.”
"Disciple will now send messages to the Western Desert and even to the ancient life-bearing stars."
"From this day forward, Amitabha Buddha is the Buddha of the past in our Buddhist tradition. When Shakyamuni Buddha attains enlightenment, he will become the Buddha of the present in our Buddhist tradition."
As soon as Venerable Kasyapa finished speaking, the young novice Shakyamuni, who was holding the talkative imperial weapon, the Vajra, turned around and looked at Zhou Xuan with a smile, saying:
"Master, the karma from my past life has been cleared. Please protect me, Master. I will sever my Dao fruit, memories, and imperial body..."
"Etc., etc!"
Before the young novice Shakyamuni could finish speaking, Venerable Kasyapa's eyes widened and he spoke urgently:
"Master, you actually took the Great Accomplished Sacred Body as your master?!"
Chapter 49 Yan Qing and Subhuti pay respects to their master.
As soon as the young novice Shakyamuni finished speaking, Venerable Kasyapa, whose lifespan was nearing its end, unconsciously spoke out, his Buddhist mind unsettled:
"Master, you..."
Venerable Kasyapa wanted to say that although the Great Accomplished Holy Body was powerful and had the great achievement of killing the Lord of the Undying Mountain, it was extremely inappropriate for Shakyamuni, a young novice monk who was the reincarnation of the Amitabha Buddha Emperor, to become a disciple of the Great Accomplished Holy Body.
Not only would they oppose it, but even the Buddhist community would oppose it.
However, looking at the young, innocent-looking Shakyamuni novice with a calm expression on his face, Venerable Kasyapa opened his mouth, but could not utter a single word.
Before Venerable Kasyapa's words had even finished, the young novice Shakyamuni, his eyes filled with compassion, slowly spoke:
“In my previous life, I was the Amitabha Buddha Emperor who founded Buddhism and spread the Dharma. I will repay the karmic debt between you and me with half of the Great Dao Law within this crumbling body.”
"Boom!!!"
The moment the words were spoken, the Amitabha Buddha Emperor's ultimate essence, which was rapidly flowing away from within his physical body, was peeled off from his torso.
Transforming into countless rays of Buddhist light of varying sizes, they drifted towards Venerable Kasyapa and his followers, Buddhist disciples, and even Buddhist believers.
Inside the yellow clay coffin, after the young novice Shakyamuni had completed his transformation, the incomplete remains of the Amitabha Buddha Emperor slowly drifted towards the golden Buddha.
As the Buddha's light and divine radiance dissipated, the remains of the Amitabha Buddha Emperor merged into the golden Buddha.
The young novice monk Shakyamuni, whose half of his ultimate source had already dissipated, continued, with his hands clasped together:
"The remaining half of the Great Dao Laws, as well as this imperial body, will repay the karmic debts owed by the primordial essence of heaven and earth that the Amitabha Buddha Emperor absorbed in his previous life."
"Boom!!!"
As soon as these words were spoken, the remaining half of the ultimate source, as well as the essence of the imperial body retained within the flesh of the young novice Shakyamuni, burst forth from every pore of the young novice Shakyamuni's body, merging into heaven and earth.
In an instant, the myriad paths of the universe, which had already entered the Golden Age due to the Stone Emperor's transformation into the Dao, suddenly trembled. Following this, the already increasingly easier environment to enter the Dao became even more abundant in the primordial essence of heaven and earth.
Even some stars that, after countless years of evolution, have not yet transformed into ancient life-bearing stars, are gradually reviving and becoming suitable for life to inhabit.
Having dispersed the ultimate source of the Dao, the young novice Shakyamuni, whose body and essence were now pure and clear, possessed a heart of crystal-clear Buddha.
Clearly, this is to make amends and repay the debts incurred.
This little novice monk, who was transformed from the body of the Great Emperor Amitabha Buddha and called himself Shakyamuni, has become increasingly powerful in his Buddha-nature.
"Namo Amitabha!"
Sensing the Great Emperor's Dao Fruit Origin surging forth from the young novice monk Shakyamuni and flowing into his body,
Clearly sensing that he was about to die, Venerable Kasyapa, who had gained a thousand years of lifespan, clasped his hands together and bowed:
"Master... Venerable Shakyamuni."
Looking at the Venerable Kasyapa, who had changed his address to Shakyamuni, and the young novice Shakyamuni who had dispersed his ultimate source and imperial body's source solely to perfect his Buddhist heart and repay karmic debts, Kasyapa stepped aside and bowed respectfully, avoiding the Venerable Kasyapa.
“The karmic connection between Amitabha Buddha and you has been settled. I am Shakyamuni, so you do not need to worship me.”
"All causes and effects can be repaid."
At this point, the young novice monk Shakyamuni turned his head and looked in Zhou Xuan's direction, saying:
"I am deeply grateful for my master's kindness and wish to erase my memories to become his disciple."
As soon as he finished speaking, the young novice Shakyamuni faced Zhou Xuan and performed the disciple-acceptance ceremony.
After a week, all memories related to Amitabha Buddha and the Great Emperor vanished like dreams and bubbles, disappearing without a trace.
The young novice monk Shakyamuni also tilted his head and fell limply to the ground.
