Chapter 60 Hermione, Neville, Tracking Magic!
Chapter 60 Hermione, Neville, Tracking Magic!
The little girl's steps were as swift and energetic as her thoughts.
Before Hermione Granger could finish speaking, she had already run to the open cubicle door and seen Dudley, Harry, and Ron inside.
Dudley and the others, whose attention had been drawn, naturally turned their heads and saw the little witch with long curly hair and big front teeth, who was tilting her head back and looking rather arrogant.
Hermione Granger – The Bullied Know-It-All (Title B)
[Details of the unfortunate incident: Hermione Granger, born into a Muggle family, like her kind, is naturally subject to discrimination and bullying from wizards who hold the idea of 'pure-blood supremacy'.]
The original story perfectly illustrates this point, with Draco Malfoy and his pure-blooded school forces always finding opportunities to insult Hermione with vile language and actions.
Although Hermione effectively fought back against this bullying in the original story, her friends also did their best to help and comfort her.
But she still inevitably suffered emotional trauma, a trauma that couldn't be fully healed by simply retaliating with a few curses or a few straight punches.
"Harry Potter, the savior who survived so many calamities, along with his powerful cousin and this red-haired classmate, do you see a toad? Neville's toad!"
The proud Hermione Granger spoke up as Dudley received the system notification.
"Toad? No! We didn't see any."
Harry replied that he had learned some of the ability to read expressions and eyes from his cousin, and he could sense that the little witch who had suddenly appeared meant them no harm.
“There’s no toad, but there’s a rat, though it’s dead!” Ron joked.
"Dead?!"
Neville, panting heavily, followed Hermione. Just as he was about to catch his breath, he vaguely heard Ron utter those terrifying words.
He thought his toad was dead, and he was so anxious that tears streamed down his face.
“Waaah… that was my pet, my Rafe, that Uncle Algi gave me!” Neville cried.
Seeing this, Harry and Ron quickly explained and comforted their sentimental classmate.
As Dali watched this scene unfold, a new system notification sounded in his mind.
Neville Longbottom – Suffering and Driven Insane Parents (Grade A)
[Details of the unfortunate incident: As another wizarding family that fulfilled the first two prophecies, Neville's parents, the Longbottoms, were kidnapped and tortured by Death Eaters about ten years after Voldemort's downfall.]
Driven mad by the Cruciatus Curse cast by Bellatrix, she remains bedridden at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Arts and has never fully recovered in the original story.
Neville Longbottom – Excessive Goodwill Amnesia (Grade C)
[Details: Because his parents were driven insane by his childhood, Neville Longbottom suffered immense emotional pain throughout his childhood.]
To make her grandson feel better and prevent him from growing up in pain, Neville's grandmother repeatedly cast the Oblivion Curse on him.
This caused Neville to forget some of his pain, but it also made him extremely forgetful, leaving him with serious aftereffects.
"Poor child!"
After receiving the system notification, Dali sighed silently to himself.
At the same time, he stood up, ready to take control of the situation.
"My two uninvited classmates, if you have no prejudice against me and Harry, I would be happy to help you find that toad named Rafer."
"After we exchange names," Dali said calmly.
Seeing Dudley step forward to take charge, Harry and Ron felt much more relieved. They had already explained the situation to Neville, and Neville's tears stopped.
Hermione's eyes lit up when she saw that Dudley's demeanor was comparable to hers, and she tilted her head back even further.
"Everyone is equal, and I have no prejudice against anyone! Moreover, I hate people who are prejudiced against others for no reason! I am Hermione Granger!"
“Me too! I’m Neville!” Neville replied timidly from the side.
"very good!"
Dudley gave a thumbs-up, and then, along with Harry and Ron, formally introduced themselves to Hermione and Neville.
"How do you plan to help Neville find the toad? Will you use magic?"
After exchanging names, Hermione couldn't wait to ask, her expression still aloof.
"Of course!"
Dali answered decisively, raising his left hand and the Smetin cane on the luggage rack flew into his hand automatically.
This move slightly shocked Hermione, Ron, and Neville.
"Is this the cane we Muggles use? The high school students near my house have similar equipment."
Hermione exclaimed in surprise, "Don't wizards use thinner, shorter, and more convenient wands to cast spells?"
“I find the cane much more comfortable!” Dudley smiled confidently. “Please make way, I’m about to begin casting a spell!”
Hermione immediately pulled Neville out into the hallway, clearing the way for the cubicle door. She was eager to see how magic was cast with a Muggle cane.
"Traces have appeared! Show me the way!"
Dali tapped Smetin's cane lightly on the floor of the carriage and uttered two incantations.
An arrow made of blue light immediately appeared in front of him, pointing to the corridor on the left.
"Follow this arrow and you'll find the toad's trail!"
Dudley offered an explanation, then led Harry and Ron out of the cubicle.
Hermione and Neville, who were already in the corridor, had looked in the direction the blue arrow pointed as soon as it appeared.
In the distance, where the arrow points, blue toad phantoms flicker, indicating the locations where Lef had climbed.
"Great magic!" Hermione exclaimed, then asked, "Which textbook has these two spells written in? I'll learn them!"
"Chapter 5 of the third-grade Charms textbook: Tracking Charms and Anti-Tracking Charms."
Dudley's answer came out effortlessly.
"You've actually previewed third-year material!" Hermione's eyes widened; she had never met a peer who was more studious than her.
Upon hearing this, Dali smiled without saying a word.
Harry, standing behind him, said with great pride, "Third year is nothing! My cousin knows more magic than all the Charms textbooks from first to seventh year combined!"
"Alright, Harry, stop exaggerating for me! You should learn from Hermione's dedication to learning!"
Dali gently scolded his cousin.
Seeing that Harry had behaved himself, he then addressed the others:
"Let's follow the magic's guidance and go find it!"
