Chapter 116 First Encounter with Frieza
Chapter 116 First Encounter with Frieza
The mountain wind howled, and Shang Yun's expression changed drastically. A look of panic flashed across his previously calm eyes. He lowered his voice but could not hide his urgency as he shouted, "This is bad! An extremely powerful aura is rushing towards us! Quick, hide in the cave!"
"Hurry, hurry, hurry!" Klin shouted, his forehead veins bulging, waving his arms and urging the others, "They'll be here in a second, get out of there!" The four of them rushed into the cave like startled rabbits, stumbling and knocking over several rocks in their haste.
In an instant, an overwhelming force surged forth, as if to crush the cave. Shang Yun, Krillin, and Gohan clung tightly to the cave walls, their muscles taut, as if they could become one with the stone. Shang Yun gritted his teeth, his cheeks puffed out, his gaze fixed intently on the outside through the cracks in the cave entrance; Krillin half-squatted on the ground, his fists clenched in front of his chest, his back soaked with sweat, his eyes filled with determination; Gohan's face was flushed red, his eyes unblinking as he desperately controlled his ki.
Frieza and his entourage arrived in a grand procession. Dodoria, leading the way, carried two Dragon Balls, a sinister smile on his face. The two Dragon Balls shimmered eerily in the sunlight. Frieza sat atop a small flying vehicle, his posture cold and aloof, his eyes seemingly able to see through everything. The air seemed to grow colder wherever he went. Sabo and the others followed behind, each with a fierce expression, their eyes filled with greed and cruelty.
As the gust of wind swept past, Bulma, hands on her knees, gasped for breath, her chest heaving. It took her a while to recover. "Looks like... they weren't coming for us. Krillin, Shangyun, Gohan, what's wrong with you three?" she said, turning to her companions. The three of them were drenched in sweat and their faces were deathly pale.
Krillin wiped the sweat from his brow and flicked it to the ground, then asked urgently, "Bulma, quickly take out the Dragon Radar and take a look."
"What are you going to do with it?" Bulma asked, puzzled.
Krillin, panting, said, "I remember you mentioned before that there were four Dragon Balls together, right?"
Bulma nodded subconsciously: "Yes, that's true."
Klin urged, "Then hurry up and take a look at the radar!"
"Ah, oh!" Bulma frantically rummaged through her backpack, pulled out the Dragon Radar, fiddled with the buttons for a bit, and then exclaimed, "It's true! Look, all four Dragon Balls are together, and they're running incredibly fast!"
Shang Yun frowned, his eyes sharp: "It seems these four are in their hands."
Bulma pressed a few more buttons, zoomed in on the radar screen, and exclaimed, "Look! These four are heading straight for the fifth one. It looks like they've found a clue to the next Dragon Ball!"
Everyone turned to look at the sound and saw Gohan slumped against the mountain wall, his eyes vacant. "Gohan!" Shang Yun stepped forward and called out, raising his voice. Gohan jolted awake and exclaimed nervously, "Godfather, you felt it too, right? That person's ki... it's ridiculously strong, much stronger than Vegeta's!"
Klin echoed, his voice trembling slightly: "Yes, that oppressive aura made my chest feel tight, and I almost couldn't breathe!"
Son Gohan's eyes lit up, showing the fearlessness of a newborn calf. He stepped forward and grabbed Krillin's arm: "Uncle Krillin, you just said there might be Namekian ki over there. These guys are definitely Vegeta's accomplices, trying to steal the Namekian Dragon Balls! Let's follow them and see!"
"This won't do!" Bulma exclaimed anxiously upon hearing this. She stepped forward to block the three of them, waving her hands wildly. "You all said it yourselves, they are stronger than Vegeta. Wouldn't this be like lambs to the slaughter?"
Son Gohan patted his chest confidently: "Aunt Bulma, don't be afraid! We'll follow quietly, nothing will happen."
Shang Yun thought with lingering fear, "It seems to be Frieza's gang, just like described in the original work, both ferocious and powerful."
Seeing that she couldn't stop them, Bulma's eyes reddened, filled with grievance and worry: "You... are you really going to leave me here all alone? What if something happens to me..."
Shang Yun looked troubled and scratched his head: "Bulma, you know the situation. It's too risky to bring you along."
Bulma sighed helplessly, "Alright... I'll make a temporary home here using capsules. You all must return safely."
"Definitely! Thank you so much, Bulma!" the three said in unison. As they spoke, all three took off their weighted suits.
As they prepared to depart, Shang Yun looked solemnly at Son Gohan, his eyes full of admonition: "Gohan, keep your ki to a minimum and go full speed ahead! Can you do it?"
Son Gohan nodded solemnly, his eyes resolute: "Don't worry, Godfather!"
"it is good!"
In an instant, the three of them, like three black shadows, darted swiftly across the mountain peaks, disappearing in a few leaps and bounds.
Bulma gazed in the direction they had left, muttering to herself, "I need to contact Earth quickly and tell Goku and the others that someone even stronger than Vegeta has arrived on Namek..." With that, she turned and went into the cave, activated her communication device, and made contact with Master Roshi.
……
In the ward, doctors and nurses were busy making their rounds, and the medical equipment was ticking away.
Sun Wukong lay on the hospital bed, his body wrapped in bandages, but his face was full of anxiety. He looked at the doctor and said urgently, "Doctor, my injury feels much better. Are you still not allowing me to do emergency training?"
Qiqi was tidying up her things when she saw this. She quickly put down the clothes she was holding, looked at Sun Wukong, her eyebrows furrowed, and scolded, "What nonsense are you talking about!"
The doctor, wearing glasses, adjusted his frames and said with a serious expression, "You are a patient now. Your wound hasn't healed yet. Don't keep thinking about training; focus on recovering."
Sun Wukong said helplessly, "But this kind of life is really boring. I feel like my body is about to rust."
Just then, Master Roshi rushed to the ward door, poked his head in, looked around, and shouted, "Hey, everyone's here, but where's Chi-Chi? I can't see her!"
Qiqi emerged from behind the curtain of the ward, clutching several freshly folded clothes in her hand. Her brows furrowed slightly, and her tone carried a hint of displeasure: "What's wrong? Is my presence here making things inconvenient for you? Is there something you can't let me hear?"
Master Roshi was startled by the sudden shout. He unconsciously scratched his head and forced an embarrassed smile: "How could that be? I was just asking casually, hehe."
Qiqi rolled her eyes at him, picked up the basin of clothes, and said to everyone, "I'm going to do the laundry. You guys keep chatting." After saying that, she walked straight out of the ward and disappeared at the end of the corridor.
Master Roshi gazed in the direction Chi-Chi had gone, let out a long sigh, and muttered under his breath, "This is a bit troublesome."
