Chapter 4 Invitation
Chapter 4 Invitation
"I bet you'd win that fight, but I ended up losing a barbecue."
After a brief silence, Tsunade looked at the sunny and adorable little face in front of her and said with a stern face.
She didn't ask Minato why he conceded defeat; she could guess the reason without him even asking.
"Private Marseille"
Minato scratched his head and pulled a few bills from his pocket: "Um, I have some more here..."
"Huh? Who do you take me for?"
Tsunade's face darkened. She could threaten them, but she would never do something like robbing a child of money.
Although she always felt at ease cheating her younger brother out of his allowance in various ways, he was still her younger brother after all.
Anyone with a younger brother knows that younger brothers are born to be their older sister's slaves.
Tsunade raised an eyebrow as she glanced at the banknotes in Minato's hand.
"You've got quite a bit of pocket money, kid."
"Actually, it's my living expenses for this week..."
"living expenses…"
Tsunade seemed to realize something, and the corner of her mouth twitched.
"Who are you…"
"orphan."
Hearing that crisp sound, Tsunade silently put Minato down, while mentally slapping herself.
Damn it! I deserve to die!
This child is an orphan!
No, I should have thought of that earlier. What normal family would let their child take the entrance exam alone?
Upon thinking about this, Tsunade was momentarily at a loss.
Seeing Tsunade's unpredictable expression, Minato stood there blankly.
He had something to ask of Tsunade; as the granddaughter of the First Hokage, she must have a considerable collection of Wood Release ninjutsu.
Since Tsunade had unexpectedly approached him, Minato naturally didn't want to miss this opportunity.
However, he is rather introverted and not very good at getting close to girls. In both his past and present lives, it was always the girls who took the initiative to approach him, so he didn't know how to start a conversation with Tsunade.
Seeing Tsunade remain silent, Minato tentatively suggested, "How about I treat you to a meal?"
"Have a meal?"
Tsunade was pondering how to kneel so as not to traumatize the child when she heard this. She felt relieved but couldn't help but smile knowingly.
"Oh? You're so young, already trying to take girls out to dinner?"
"Um--"
Minato pursed his lips, realizing he couldn't think of a suitable reason. Finally, he could only slap the back of his head in exasperation and give an awkward laugh: "Actually, I have something I'd like to ask you, haha..."
So he had something to ask of me. No wonder this kid is so good-natured.
Tsunade raised an eyebrow: "What is it? Speak."
Minato shook his head, glancing discreetly in the direction of the school: "If you don't mind... could you stay a little longer? My cooking skills are pretty good."
This looks like a troublesome matter...
But who made this mess of things?
Tsunade sighed helplessly, "Then let's go. Let me see your cooking skills."
Minato's face lit up with joy. He formed a hand seal and created a shadow clone, entrusting the task of buying groceries to the clone.
"You can even use shadow clones?" Tsunade asked in astonishment.
"This is one of the ninjutsu techniques my father left behind."
Minato nodded and led Tsunade home.
Like the Minato family in Tsunade's Infinite Tsukuyomi, the Minato family's home in the movie Road to Ninja is also this small building.
The location of the house is quite good, within the second ring road, not far from Kageyama. There are many powerful ninja clans nearby, and even the Uchiha clan is currently located in this area.
Because of the road slope, the small building is built on a two-meter-high stone platform and consists of two main parts.
Part of it is a residential area. You go up to the second floor via the iron staircase, and the second and third floors are the areas where people live on a daily basis.
The other part of the building looks like a giant thermos. The interior is connected to the residential area. The first floor is a warehouse, the second floor is a study, and the third floor is a tea room. Due to the terrain, you can see most of Konoha from the third floor.
As soon as he entered the house, Shuimen went straight into the kitchen.
Tsunade, arms wrapped around a pair of ample breasts, leaned against the kitchen doorway, watching Minato skillfully wash and prepare vegetables. Her tone was slightly gentle: "Your house is in a great location, isn't it? Right in the center of the village. How come I've never seen you before?"
"Yes, I rarely go out after my parents passed away, but I've been getting up early to exercise lately."
"Early morning exercise..."
Tsunade chuckled. She didn't have this kind of awareness when she wasn't on a mission, so it was no wonder she hadn't seen the other person before.
It's not surprising that the other party knows her. As the granddaughter of the First and Second Hokage and a disciple of the Third Hokage, she possesses both beauty and strength. It would be strange if anyone in the village didn't know her.
"So you only recently started cultivating?"
Minato shook his head: "I started refining chakra half a year ago. My family has my father's training scrolls from when he was a ninja. I taught myself some simple ninjutsu by following the scrolls. I only started training my body recently because I heard that there would be a taijutsu test for the entrance exam."
After neatly chopping the side dishes, the shadow clone returned home, handed the purchased groceries to Minato, and then dispersed.
"You're self-taught? What ninjutsu have you mastered?" Tsunade asked curiously.
"Hmm... It has three body techniques: Wind Release: Vacuum Ball, Water Release: Water Vortex, Earth Release: Earth Wave, and Shadow Clone Technique."
"It's all basic stuff...wait a minute!"
Tsunade suddenly straightened up, one hand bracing against the doorframe, her gaze fixed intently on Minato: "Wind, Water, Earth—you can release them all skillfully? What about your chakra nature? Have you tested it?"
Minato nodded: "It has the five elements of wind, lightning, water, fire, and earth. However, I don't have any fire or lightning ninjutsu at home. Apart from the Vacuum Ball, they are all relatively common D-rank ninjutsu."
Of these five attributes, the wind attribute should be his own.
Water and earth should have come from Hashirama Senju, and fire and lightning should have come from Madara Uchiha.
Furthermore, he inherited Hashirama's self-healing ability without hand seals and Madara's Sharingan, meaning he also possesses the abilities of Yang Release and Yin Release.
"Five attributes..."
Tsunade, as if she had seen something rare, suddenly smiled smugly: "Your request isn't because you've discovered your talent but lack ninjutsu, so you want to become my apprentice, is it?"
"To become an apprentice..."
Minato was taken aback; he had never really considered becoming an apprentice.
According to the original storyline, his teacher should be Jiraiya.
However, although Minato's personality is not much different from the original, he is influenced by his memories and knowledge from his previous life, so his cognition and values are actually very different from the original Minato.
Jiraiya longed for mutual understanding among people and spent his life searching for the child of prophecy who would bring peace, as spoken of by the Great Toad Sage. He can be considered a true and thorough idealist.
But ideals detached from reality are nothing but empty talk.
Minato believed that people could understand each other, but understanding alone could not solve problems.
War is a continuation of politics, and politics, in the final analysis, is nothing more than the pursuit of interests.
If the issue of the distribution of benefits cannot be resolved, the struggle will naturally never end.
Minato admires Jiraiya's idealism, but he does not agree with his ideas.
They were not on the same path, and he did not intend to become Jiraiya's apprentice as in the original story.
However, if it were Tsunade, although she couldn't teach him anything, she would definitely have inherited the Wood Release ninjutsu, since the First Hokage's wife, Mito Uzumaki, was still alive at that time.
Noticing Minato's reaction, Tsunade realized she might have been presumptuous and couldn't help but purse her lips: "What? You didn't want to become his apprentice?"
Minato quickly waved his hands: "No, no, no, actually I really want to become your apprentice!"
"It's too late, I don't like your attitude."
Tsunade gave a soft hum, but her curiosity grew even stronger about what Minato's request for her really was.
Despite demonstrating exceptional talent, he still harbors secrets he doesn't want to reveal to outsiders.
The only possibility she could think of was bloodline limit.
