Chapter 7 Two-meter-long wild boar
Chapter 7 Two-meter-long wild boar
The campfire was burning brightly, the wood crackling and sparks flying up only to be scattered by the night wind.
Fan Yubing stood up, brushed the sand off her banana leaf skirt, and took two steps toward the tent. Lin Shishi also slowly got up, supporting herself on her uninjured arm, and yawned.
Just then, a rustling sound came from the bushes.
The three of them froze at the same time.
Qin Chuan's pupil technique activated almost instinctively, and a line of semi-transparent text instantly popped up in his field of vision:
[Otherworldly Wild Boar Found, Level 2 Ingredient, Strength 40, Health 40, Speed 12. Weakness: Rear Rump, Instant Kill if Pierced.]
Two red lights emerged from the gaps in the bushes, about half a meter above the ground, and stared motionless in the direction of the campfire.
The thing's breathing was heavy, like a bellows, and it was snorting loudly from its nose, making the leaves of the bushes rustle as its body pushed against them.
Qin Chuan's heart jumped.
Strength 40? My current strength is only 16, more than half less. If this thing charges at me, I'll definitely be at a disadvantage in a head-on confrontation.
However, the pupil technique revealed a weakness: the rear of the buttocks; a piercing there would be fatal.
If you can seize the opportunity to get behind it, you can take it down with one strike.
"What is it?" Fan Yubing's voice was already trembling.
No sooner had the words left his mouth than the bushes shook violently, and a huge black creature rushed out.
It was a wild boar, but bigger than any wild boar on Earth.
It is two meters long and nearly one meter tall at the shoulder. Its two fangs curl outward from the corners of its mouth and gleam with a cold white light under the campfire.
The mane on its back stood up like steel needles, and its four hooves pounded the sand, leaving a crater with each step.
"Ah!" Fan Yubing and Lin Shishi screamed almost at the same time. They instinctively backed away, stumbled and almost fell, and then hid behind Qin Chuan.
Fan Yubing gripped Qin Chuan's collar tightly, her nails digging into the fabric: "Qin Chuan! What's that?!"
Lin Shishi was even more decisive, grabbing Qin Chuan's left arm with both hands and curling herself up into a ball.
Qin Chuan stared at the wild boar, his mind racing.
This thing is two and a half times stronger than me; I absolutely cannot fight it head-on.
But its speed is only 12, while my speed is 13. Although it's only a little faster, it's enough to keep up with it.
The key is that weakness: the rear of the buttocks.
Qin Chuan reached into his waistband and pulled out the folding knife, snapping the blade open with a "click." The knife wasn't long, only about eight centimeters at most, hardly enough to deal with a two-meter-long behemoth.
But this is his only weapon right now.
The wild boar grunted, lowered its head, pointed its tusks at Qin Chuan, and pawed at the sand with its four hooves.
This is a sign that an attack is imminent.
Qin Chuan grabbed Fan Yubing's hand and forcefully pried her fingers off her collar: "You all hide in the tent and don't come out."
"You're alone? Are you crazy?" Fan Yubing's voice shrilly. "That thing is twice your size!"
"Besides me, who else can step forward!"
This is true.
Without further hesitation, Qin Chuan bent down, picked up a fist-sized stone from the ground, and threw it at the wild boar.
The stone hit the wild boar's shoulder with a dull thud.
The beast didn't even flinch, but instead became enraged, letting out a low growl.
"Come on! You beast!" Qin Chuan roared and turned to run towards the beach.
Sure enough, the wild boar caught up, its four hooves kicking the ground, sand flying everywhere, moving as fast as a runaway car.
"This place is infested with beasts!"
Fan Yubing pulled Lin Shishi into the shack and hid.
Qin Chuan ran about a hundred meters towards the beach, putting a good distance between himself and the campsite. The beach under the moonlight was wide open, with no obstructions and excellent visibility.
He stopped abruptly and turned around to face the wild boar charging towards him.
The beast was less than ten meters away from him, its head lowered, fangs pointing forward, and its four hooves kicking up two streaks of sand.
Qin Chuan held his breath, staring at the wild boar's movement.
His three years of Sanda training were not for nothing; he focused most on footwork and reaction time.
The moment the wild boar charged at him, Qin Chuan slammed his right foot into the ground, taking a large step to the left.
The fangs grazed his trouser leg, creating a gust of wind, missing him by less than five centimeters.
Qin Chuan then kicked the wild boar in the lower back.
He used all his strength in that kick, but it felt like kicking a wall when he kicked the wild boar. The impact made his entire right leg go numb, and the wild boar was knocked off balance, its four hooves slipping on the sand, but it didn't fall down at all.
"Damn, that's really hard."
The wild boar turned around and charged again, its eyes red.
Qin Chuan dodged to the side again. This time he didn't kick, but instead, as the wild boar passed by, he gripped his folding knife and stabbed it in the side.
The knife tip pierced about three centimeters, but got stuck in a thick layer of fat. Qin Chuan had to pull hard to get the knife out.
The wild boar let out a miserable "Ouch!" and swung its body violently, its rear end nearly knocking Qin Chuan flying.
Qin Chuan jumped back two steps and looked down at the blood on the tip of the knife.
The cut lacerated the skin but didn't hit any vital organs. Three centimeters deep is about the same as a mosquito bite for this 200-pound beast.
We have to go around to the back.
But this beast wasn't stupid; every time it charged, it faced him head-on, fangs pointing forward, giving him no chance to flank.
Qin Chuan fought it back and forth five or six times, and ended up with two abrasions on his body.
One time, he was a fraction of a second too slow to dodge, and the fangs grazed his outer thigh, tearing a hole in his pants and leaving his skin burning with pain.
Another time, I stepped on a slippery stone and almost fell.
After several encounters, Qin Chuan figured out the opponent's situation.
Killing this wild boar shouldn't be difficult.
Qin Chuan was panting heavily when he suddenly thought of the lie that "many children bring many blessings," and realized that he could use this as an excuse.
This wild boar is very strong, but I am no longer an ordinary person.
Pretend you can't beat them, then go back and "grow" before coming back. Once you kill the wild boar, the lie will be complete, right?
[From now on, getting the nutrient solution will be a breeze. Hehehe, I really am a genius!]
Upon realizing this, Qin Chuan let out a long, drawn-out scream.
He shouted that on purpose, facing the camp so that the two people inside the tent could hear him clearly.
Fan Yubing and Lin Shishi, who were hiding in the tent, were indeed fooled.
They listened anxiously to the sounds of fighting outside, as well as the screams of "Qin Chuan".
I felt uneasy; he was the only "real man" on the island.
If they die, who will take care of the two injured women?
"What should we do? What if he gets eaten by a wild boar?" Fan Yubing said worriedly.
Lin Shishi also seemed very worried: "Wild boars don't eat people, but they are extremely strong. I'm afraid we won't be able to help."
Just then, a figure appeared at the tent entrance, startling the two of them.
Qin Chuan said breathlessly, "Quickly, Fan Yubing, Lin Shishi, come out here for a moment."
Upon hearing the sound, the two immediately poked their heads out, but he was covered in blood and very worried.
Actually, it was the blood of that wild boar that Qin Chuan deliberately smeared on himself.
