Chapter 15 Because it's my first love?
Chapter 15 Because it's my first love?
Zhao Enzhen and another PD stood at the entrance of the sausage shop, one on each side, supporting Jiang Yongtai.
Luo Yingxi and Li Youting had already left. Before leaving, they handed Jiang Yongtai over to them and told them to wait for "Saka xi," who had promised to pick them up on the phone.
A car turned into the alley, its headlights sweeping across the shop sign before slowly coming to a stop in front of them.
Zhao Enzhen realized that her savior had arrived. She leaned Jiang Yongtai against the old PD and took two steps forward to knock on the car window.
Sana Minatozaki sat in the driver's seat, her hands still gripping the steering wheel.
At one in the morning, she had finished her skincare routine and was lying in bed scrolling through her phone when the phone rang.
It was an unfamiliar number, but not many people knew her private number, so I answered without thinking much about it.
The person on the other end asked her if she was Saka, and she subconsciously answered, only realizing what she meant after she finished.
Saka? Only one person would call themselves that...
The person on the other end of the phone visibly breathed a sigh of relief and said directly that Jiang Yongtai had drunk too much and asked if she could come and pick him up.
Jiang Yongtai?!
The name matched the person who had just popped into her head...
She sat up, clutching her phone, wanting to say that it was inconvenient.
That person has already deleted all her contact information!
When they broke up, she cried and wanted to call him to ask why, but all she heard was a cold, impersonal message—she had been blocked…
What does it matter now?!
The person on the other end of the phone asked her a question when she didn't respond.
Sana Minatozaki snapped out of her daze, and the words "It's inconvenient" were already on the tip of her tongue. Three words, and she could hang up right after saying them!
But what came out of his mouth was the address.
After hanging up the phone, she sat on the edge of the bed in a daze, the phone screen going dark and then turning on again, then dark again.
She slammed her fist on the bed, grabbed a coat, a mask and sunglasses, and her keys before running out...
……
Seeing that the person inside the car did not react, Zhao Enzhen frowned and knocked on the car window again, feeling a little uneasy.
Could it be Saka?
Just as she was about to ask a question, the car window slowly rolled down, revealing a face wearing a mask and sunglasses.
It was dark inside the car, and Zhao Enzhen couldn't see the other person clearly, but based on a woman's intuition, she subconsciously felt that the other person must be very good-looking.
And wearing sunglasses at this hour... could he be a celebrity?!
"Excuse me, is this Saka xi?" Zhao Enzhen asked tentatively.
Sana Minatozaki nodded.
Zhao Enzhen breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that she had finally waited for the person to arrive.
She straightened up, her tone becoming lighter: "That's great! You're PD Kang Young-tae's girlfriend, right? He's had too much to drink, thank you for your help."
Sana Minatozaki's brows furrowed behind her sunglasses.
Girlfriend? He told others that she was his girlfriend?
She looked at Zhao Enzhen, her voice a little strained.
"Wait a minute, I'm not his girlfriend. Did he tell you that?"
Zhao Enzhen was taken aback for a moment, then quickly waved her hand to explain, "Uh, no... it's just that you're pinned to the top of Jiang Yongtai's contact list, so we..."
"I'm sorry, it was a misunderstanding. But you're a friend of PD Kang Young-tae, right?"
"Pin to top?"
Sana Minatozaki paused for a moment.
He didn't delete her number; he even removed it from his blacklist and pinned it to the top of his chat list?!
Zhao Enzhen observed her reaction and secretly pieced together the plot in her mind.
Jiang Yongtai is pursuing this Saka, but unfortunately he hasn't caught up yet. However, he's willing to drive over so late, so he's probably not far from catching up with her.
But is the other person a celebrity?
She stared at Minatozaki Sana's face with a hint of gossip, but unfortunately, the mask and sunglasses completely covered her face, making it impossible to recognize who she was.
The old PD behind him couldn't stand still any longer and called out from a few steps away.
"Eun-jin, what have you been talking about for so long? Is that PD Kang Young-tae's friend in the car?"
"Ah, I'm so sorry, senpai!"
Zhao Enzhen turned around to apologize, then turned back and clasped her hands together.
"Saka-ssi, do you know PD Kang Young-tae's address? We have things to do tomorrow, so he's asking you for help!"
"I……"
Sana Minatozaki wanted to say something, but seeing the pleading look on Zhao Enzhen's face, she nodded.
"...Help him up." She unlocked the car.
Zhao Enzhen breathed a sigh of relief and quickly turned around to help the old PD lift Jiang Yongtai over.
Sana Minatosaki watched them open the passenger door and suddenly spoke up.
"Wait a moment!"
Zhao Enzhen looked up in confusion. "What's wrong?"
"...It's nothing. You're his colleagues at KBS, right? Thank you."
Seeing that Jiang Yongtai had been put into the passenger seat and his seatbelt was fastened, Minatozaki Sana swallowed her words back.
Zhao Enzhen straightened up and smiled.
"No, we're from tvN. Hasn't PD Kang Young-tae told you yet? He's already switched to tvN."
Sana Minatozaki paused for a moment.
Why so fast? I just told Mina a few days ago that I was going to go soon, and now she's already started working.
"Alright, then we'll leave it to you, PD Kang. We'll take our leave now."
Zhao Enzhen smiled at her, closed the car door, and quickly disappeared into the alley with the old PD.
Sana Minato watched their figures disappear, then turned to look at Yong-tae Kang.
He hasn't opened his eyes since he was put on the bus; his head is resting on the headrest, and his face is turned towards him.
The streetlights slanted across his face from the open car window, and a few strands of his hair fell across his forehead, slightly curled up by the car's heater.
His breathing was heavy, and the corners of his mouth were slightly pursed down, as if he were struggling with something even in his sleep.
Sana Minato stared at that face for a few seconds and found that her anger had not subsided but had instead intensified.
Two years after their breakup, the artist and the producer should have occasionally bumped into each other during various schedules, but they've been avoiding each other very well for the past two years...
As a result, we met twice in that week!
Yes, she was the one who called out to him last time, but he was the one who ran to the radio station floor first!
She suddenly showed up that day, saying she wanted to leave KBS, and asked her what she thought...
This reminded her of that promise, and she replied nonsensically, "And you?"
Sana Minatozaki grew angrier the more she thought about it, and punched him in the chest.
Jiang Yongtai groaned, his brows furrowing slightly in his sleep, his throat bobbing as if something was rising from his stomach.
Sana Minatozaki was so frightened that she quickly shrank back towards the driver's seat, pressing her back against the car door.
"Baka! I'm warning you! Don't you dare vomit!"
Perhaps after hearing what she said, Jiang Yongtai swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down before he calmed down again.
Sana Minato breathed a sigh of relief, glared at him again, turned down the air conditioning fan speed, gripped the steering wheel again, and drove toward the address she remembered.
……
When they arrived at Jiang Yongtai's building, Minatozaki Sana parked the car and turned to call out to him.
no response.
She reached out and patted his face, the force shifting from "wake him up" to "venting her anger."
Jiang Yongtai's head just swayed to the side with her slap, he mumbled something indistinctly, and then slumped back down.
"How much did you drink?"
She frowned and muttered something.
He was drunk on the day he was promoted from assistant PD to official PD, but at least he could stand up on his own and even took a picture of himself making a clumsy heart shape in front of a barbecue restaurant and send it to her.
She glanced at the apartment building in front of her, then at Jiang Yongtai slumped in the passenger seat, muttered a curse under her breath, got out of the car, walked around to the passenger side, opened the door, and unbuckled his seatbelt.
Jiang Yongtai's body lost its restraint and tilted towards her. She caught him in a panic and almost stumbled from being crushed.
"It's so heavy... Jiang Yongtai, you need to put some effort into it!"
She gritted her teeth and subconsciously reached out to twist the soft flesh of his waist.
Jiang Yongtai grunted, and perhaps due to muscle memory, his body instinctively adjusted its center of gravity, reducing the weight on Minatozaki Sana's shoulder.
Sana Minatozaki wrinkled her nose and gave a smug snort.
Jiang Yongtai, you think I can't handle you?
She took the opportunity to change to a more stable position, wrapped his arm around her shoulder, and supported him as they walked forward into the apartment building and pressed the elevator button.
Inside the elevator, Jiang Yongtai's head was drooping, his chin resting on her shoulder, his warm breath spraying onto her collarbone through her hoodie.
She wrinkled her nose and shrank to the side, looking at her reflection in the elevator door, feeling that everything that had happened tonight was utterly absurd.
When they reached the floor, the elevator doors opened, and she half-dragged, half-carried him to the door she remembered.
"Hey, what's the password?"
Sana Minatozaki supported his slumping shoulder, her tone unfriendly.
Jiang Yongtai, of course, could not answer.
She stared at his face for a long time, wondering if he was really drunk or just pretending.
If he was faking it, she decided to slam his face into the door right now.
But she was more afraid that he would actually throw up, and then she would get covered in vomit, and she had a schedule to follow the next day.
Gritting her teeth, she ignored Jiang Yongtai and pressed a series of numbers on the combination lock.
170530
The door lock beeped and opened.
Sana Minatozaki paused for a moment, her hand still hovering in front of the combination lock.
What?! You didn't change the password?
She glanced at Jiang Yongtai, her expression suddenly becoming complicated.
Didn't you block and delete me completely? Didn't you leave without a trace? What are you still keeping this number for?!
She thought the password to that door had been changed long ago because the breakup was so decisive back then.
She even wondered what expression she should have if one day she entered the password and the door lock beeped twice to indicate an error.
With her busy Asian tour, she simply didn't have time to test the idea.
If I had known you hadn't changed, I should have come here myself two years ago!
She stared down at Jiang Yongtai, wishing the floor tiles at the door would sober him up.
But the door was already open.
Light shone through the cracks onto the floor tiles, and the air was filled with the musty smell of the apartment that had been sitting there all day.
Sana Minatozaki gritted her teeth and helped Kang Young-tae step over the threshold.
Jiang Yongtai's apartment was exactly the same as she remembered. The sofa was still the same gray cloth sofa, and there were several draft proposals and an empty mug on the coffee table. The coffee stains at the bottom of the mug had dried to a dark brown.
She glanced around and saw that the shoe rack in the entryway had no women's slippers, only a few pairs of sneakers and a pair of men's slippers, crammed together crookedly.
She helped Jiang Yongtai onto the sofa.
His head tilted back on the cushion, his brows furrowed slightly, as if the position was uncomfortable, but he showed no sign of waking up.
Sana Minatozaki stood next to the sofa, catching her breath. She took off her mask and sunglasses and placed them on the coffee table. She pursed her lips and looked down at his face.
"Jiang Yongtai, you've surprised me."
The phone number was pinned to the top of her chat list, and the password hadn't been changed... These two things alone were enough to make her head spin again.
She curled the corners of her lips into a cold laugh, then looked down at him and asked.
"Because it's your first love?"
Jiang Yongtai still did not answer.
She looked up and gazed toward the bedroom.
Since the password hasn't been changed, then...
She bit her lower lip and walked in that direction. She didn't stop when she passed his bedroom, but stopped in front of another door, put her hand on the doorknob, and turned it gently.
The door opened, and she pressed the light switch, illuminating the room.
There was no dusty smell as she had imagined; instead, the air was filled with a faint fragrance—the same scented diffuser she had bought before.
The bed sheet was light pink, and next to the pillow sat a flat-faced cat that had been won from a claw machine a few years ago. One of the whiskers sewn onto the cat's face had come undone and was sticking up crookedly.
There was a succulent plant on the windowsill, and she had covered the pot with rabbit stickers, but now the edges of the stickers were curling up a little.
On the desk sat a row of blind box dolls she had bought, still standing in the same pose. In the corner were several Japanese magazines, the top one dated the month she last visited.
The wardrobe door was half open, and a light pink sweatshirt was folded in one of the compartments, with a section of the tag still attached showing at the neckline.
Those were merchandise from her Japan tour; she'd completely forgotten when she left them here.
Sana Minatozaki went in and sat down on the edge of the bed.
The mattress sank slightly. She picked up the flat-faced cat, her fingers unconsciously stroking its slightly stiff ears, and stared blankly at everything around her.
Suddenly, something flashed under the bedside table, catching her attention.
She crouched down, reached inside, her fingertips touched a chain, and she pulled it out with a flick of her finger.
Sana Minatozaki's eyes lit up.
It was a necklace given to her by a friend in Osaka. The pendant is a small star, and the back is engraved with the initials of her name.
She searched for two years, from Tokyo to Seoul, turning over every drawer in her dorm room and the hidden compartments in her suitcase. She even called her mother to ask if she had left it at home, but it was nowhere to be found. She was disappointed for a long time because of this.
The result is here...
She pouted, clutching the necklace as she sat back on the bed.
You idiot, don't you clean the house regularly? How come you didn't even notice this?
She put the necklace into her sweatshirt pocket and looked at the bedside table, which was empty.
She paused for a moment, then leaned out slightly, supporting herself on the mattress.
That photo is gone; it's a picture of her and him on the beach in Incheon...
He went to Incheon to film a program, and she secretly took a car to surprise him when she had no schedule. The two of them were so cold on the beach at dusk in winter that they huddled together and asked an old man on the street to take the picture.
When she got back, she printed out the photos and put them in a frame, but now the frame is gone.
Sana Minato frowned, not suspecting that he was missing; there was so much evidence that she didn't even consider that possibility.
She opened the bedside table drawer, but it was empty.
I stood up again and scanned the bookshelves and windowsill, but still nothing.
Sana Minatozaki's brows furrowed more and more tightly.
No way, you wouldn't...
She stood up, walked out of the room, and went straight to open the door to the master bedroom across the hall.
