Chapter 60: Lupin and Snape
Chapter 60: Lupin and Snape
It wasn't a shouting letter after all... Because of inexplicable worry, Loila didn't open the letter sent by Mr. Lupin until late at night.
The letter contained a lot of information, and surprisingly, it also included Galon.
What does Mr. Lupin mean by this?
Looking at the Galon lying on the table, Loila didn't know what to say.
Could it have been sent to the wrong address? Maybe it was money sent to family or something... Looking at the already opened envelope, she had to muster up the courage to read Mr. Lupin's letter.
"To the learned Miss Hamilton..."
Was it really a letter for me? Then why was there...? Loila looked down in confusion before she understood the reason.
"Making the wolfsbane potion requires a lot of medicinal herbs, and I am very grateful for your help, so I don't want to add to your burden."
"This money is specifically for you to buy medicinal herbs, and any extra money is considered a reward for you."
"Don't reject these things. We're friends. Shouldn't friends clarify these things together?"
Ah... Upon seeing the word "friend," Loila couldn't utter a single word of refusal.
So this is what good friends are like! Loila couldn't help but feel a little happy; the Galleons Mr. Lupin sent had the taste of friendship...
That sounds a bit strange.
However, having this money would certainly make things much more convenient. Loila didn't think she could keep getting medicine from Professor Snape indefinitely... and besides, that wouldn't be good either.
Although it wouldn't be very convenient to buy it myself... Loila pursed her lips and continued looking down.
Mr. Lupin talked about many things, but most of them were related to what he is currently doing.
He was investigating the man's whereabouts in Albania...
"That person"
If those three words appeared in Mr. Riddle's diary, it might frighten Loila even more.
After all, that refers to...
Loila looked up alertly at her office door.
Good, that person didn't come!
Forgive her caution, after all, Dumbledore has done this many times before... and this phenomenon will only increase after we arrive at Hogwarts.
After confirming that Dumbledore had indeed not appeared, Royla continued reading.
"Miss Hamilton, I wonder how you're doing at Hogwarts? Are your classes going well?"
It probably wasn't very smooth... Whether it was showing the students the Killing Curse or scaring herself into fainting at the school hospital... Loila shook her head awkwardly and started writing her reply.
"I'm fine... Deng... that person has been very kind to me, I guess you could call it kindness?" Loila felt that her letter was terribly written, after all, she had hardly ever written a letter... and several of them were actually replies to the fraudulent letters that Lord Grindelwald had mentioned.
Therefore, she wrote whatever came to mind, and would even write ellipses in her letters because of her subconscious stuttering.
However, Loila found this experience very interesting: writing letters to her friends, chatting with them, eating with them, attending classes with them... Well, in a sense, her last wish was fulfilled.
I am so happy.
Loila subconsciously thought of this...
"what!"
Why did you write that sentence down too! Loila quickly picked up a quill pen and scribbled it over.
However, Mr. Lupin's letter also reminded me of... the matter of the wolfsbane medicine.
She had already sent this month's dose of wolfsbane medicine to Mr. Lupin, so next month's dose should be made soon.
The medicinal herbs are running low, and I need to go buy more tomorrow... but where can I go?
Is Diagon Alley too far...? After thinking for a while, Loila thought she might be able to ask someone where she could buy it.
Professor Snape is a good choice... I just happened to want to ask him about potion making... But... Professor Snape is terrifying.
It should even be described as terrifying... Loila took a deep breath and huddled in her chair, not wanting to move.
But when she saw Sia standing on the owl shelf, she nodded seriously.
For my friends! I'll risk everything!
"Professor Snape... I... I have something to take care of..."
Seeing Miss Hamilton standing hesitantly at the office door, Snape said with a dark face, "Get to the point."
"Eek!" Loila flinched, her blue eyes darting nervously at her boots, her hands flailing haphazardly in front of her. "I just... wanted to ask..."
"What do you want to ask?" Snape paused, his dark eyes scanning her from head to toe before finally settling on her pale face beneath the hood. "I have something else to ask, Miss Hamilton..."
"If you keep stammering like this..." He snorted coldly and didn't say anything more, but that snort alone was enough to send chills down Loila's spine.
"It's about wolfsbane... wolfsbane medicine... something..." Loila tried to speak more completely and fluently, but it didn't seem to have much effect.
"Heh." Snape chuckled, his tone slightly sarcastic. "It seems our Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Miss Hamilton..."
"It seems we've run into trouble." He said, as if remembering something, "Why don't you go see Professor Lockhart?"
"Ah... I almost forgot." Snape said, looking at Loila, whose face was growing paler. "Isn't it true that a young lady named Hamel Loila fainted a few days ago?"
"Uh!" Loila quickly shrank back and waved her hands, "I...I don't know...I'm not quite clear about these things...I..."
"What a pity." Snape shook his head. "I remember Professor McGonagall saying that a professor would be attending my Potions class."
"What a pity..."
Please, Professor Snape, stop talking! I...I know I was wrong! I shouldn't have agreed to become the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for Dumbledore, I shouldn't have come here to find you, and I shouldn't have asked about the Wolfsbane Potion...I'm just a pathetic parasite!
I beg you, please stop talking...
Loila leaned against the damp corridor wall, feeling numb all over.
Seeing Loila's pale face, as if she were about to faint, Snape shook his head with a cold smile: "If I were you, I wouldn't be bothering the other professors."
Instead, they would choose to go to the Potions classroom and find an old textbook.
"I believe even Durmstrang students... should know that the Wolfsbane Potion is in the last chapter, right?"
"Oh...right, our Miss Hamilton was a student fifty years ago...then you need the notes even more, don't you?"
"As for the medicine," Snape said with a smirk, "Hogsmeade next to Hogwarts is probably the best choice for an unprofessional wizard like yourself."
what?
Was Professor Snape... telling her what to do? Loira paused, surprised to find that Professor Snape only seemed intimidating on the surface, but in reality...
"What are you still doing here?" Snape frowned at Loira's stunned expression. "Are you waiting for me to tell the Department of Magical Creatures that a Veela has escaped?"
"Or..." He looked at Loila's twitching ears under her hood, "Are you waiting for me to use Veela ears to brew potions?"
"Oh! I'm sorry! I...I'm so sorry! I...I...I know I was wrong!"
"Bang!"
"..."
After taking a few deep breaths in silence, Loila's mind, which had been numb with fear, finally calmed down.
"I'm sorry, Professor Snape, I presumptuously assumed you were being kind to me..." Loila crossed her arms and paused for a moment before daring to look up at the office door that had been slammed shut.
But... thank you anyway.
"Th...thank you..." Loila said in a weak voice, then bowed slightly.
"Oh."
Snape, looking at the potion in his hand from behind the door, snorted coldly, whether because he had heard something or was simply annoyed.
Or perhaps both.
