Chapter 49 Yoona's Strategy
Chapter 49 Yoona's Strategy
"Yoona?"
Tiffany noticed her distraction and waved her hand in front of her face. "What's wrong?"
Yoona snapped out of her daze, quickly averting her gaze, and a habitual smile spread across her lips: "Ani, I'm just a little surprised. The person you're talking about is amazing. I'd love to meet him."
"You'll see him soon." Tiffany didn't think much of it, smiling and patting her hand. "He went to eat, but he'll be back soon. I'm treating him to barbecue tonight, do you want to come?"
"Okay." Lim Yoona picked up her water glass and took a sip, then, using the rim of the glass as cover, glanced at the empty chair again.
Her mind was racing, but she dared not let anyone notice.
That person, like myself, came from another timeline.
But why was he able to do those things? And it sounded like there wasn't even a hint of backlash.
This is completely unfair.
Yoona lowered her eyelashes and lightly scraped her fingernails against the cup, making a very subtle friction sound.
On that rainy night in 2013, she already understood the cruelty of that ironclad rule.
So over the years she has been very careful, walking on thin ice, suppressing every thought that tried to reach out.
But what gives this person the right to do so?
Yoona took a deep breath, suppressing the resentment and bitterness surging in her heart. When she raised her head, her face had regained its usual composure.
"Panie, what did you say his name was again? Let me write it down, maybe we'll have a chance to work together in the future."
"Jiang Yan." Tiffany repeated without any suspicion, and picked up a notepad from the side, wrote down the name and handed it to her, "Jiang Yan, the Jiang of ginger, the Yan of delay, from Busan, he's quite handsome, but a bit dull, the same type as Tae-gu."
Lim Yoona took the note and looked down at the two neat Korean characters on it.
Jiang Yan.
She silently repeated the name in her mind, then folded the note and put it in her coat pocket.
No matter who he is, no matter what method he used to avoid the backlash, we must find him and find out what to do.
But before that, she couldn't alert the enemy.
If this Jiang Yan is indeed a time traveler like her, then he must also know her.
She is Yoona from Girls' Generation. People on the entire peninsula who don't know her are probably not even born yet.
Therefore, when he sees her, Lim Yoon-a, he will definitely reveal his weakness.
Yoona ran her fingers over the note in her pocket, her mind racing as she formulated her next strategy.
First, she needed to create a natural opportunity to meet, and Panioni just happened to give her that opportunity.
Secondly, she needed a way to test the waters.
If he really is a time traveler, then he must know what will happen in the next few years.
But she couldn't ask directly, because that would expose herself.
Finally, she needs to evaluate this person.
Is he friend or foe?
What is his purpose in changing these things?
Will he threaten her?
One question after another snowballed in Yoona's mind, but she always wore a gentle and harmless smile, and even had the mind to chat with Tiffany about the upcoming photoshoot.
"By the way, Yoona."
Tiffany suddenly remembered something and leaned closer. "Didn't you say that filming for 'Confidential Assignment' had started? How's filming going these past few days? Are you tired? I heard you've been filming until the early hours of the morning every day."
Lim Yoona tilted her head slightly, "Hyun Bin has more scenes, I'm just a supporting character, so it's okay, not particularly tiring."
"That's good." Tiffany leaned back on the sofa, crossed her legs, and swung her toes. "I was worried you were too tired, since you're running around filming and other commitments. I was afraid your body wouldn't be able to handle it, but you look pretty good, so I'm relieved."
Lim Yoona smiled and lowered her eyelashes.
You look good.
She had heard many people say those four words.
The agent said it, the stylist said it, and the fans also said it at the autograph session.
Each time, she would smile and reply with "thank you," then quickly change the subject to the other person.
Because only she knows how much effort it took to maintain that face that was praised for its good complexion.
I got up at four in the morning to do my makeup and filmed until late at night. When I removed my makeup, the person in the mirror had dark circles under their eyes, chapped and peeling lips, and dull skin like a seriously ill patient.
But the next morning, she would sit in front of the dressing table again, letting the makeup artist apply layers of foundation, eyeliner, and lip gloss, hiding her tired self under a perfect makeup look.
She is Lim Yoon-a, the visual of Girls' Generation, the visual of the nation's girl group.
Everyone loves to see her smile; it's clean, refreshing, like the first gentle breeze of spring.
Therefore, she never hesitates to smile, whether it's at the camera, at fans, or at unfamiliar staff members passing by in the company corridor.
A smile makes everyone happy.
A smile can make you feel less tired.
"Oh, right." Tiffany suddenly sat up straight, clapping her hands. "Since we're having dinner together tonight, why don't we invite Taigu too? Then I'll ask the others if they're free. It's been a long time since we ate together."
As if remembering something, she turned to Kenzie and asked, "Unnie, are you busy tonight? Want to come along?"
Kenzie turned around and rolled her eyes at her. "You only remembered me at the last minute. Never mind, you young people have fun by yourselves. I won't get involved."
"But you need to be careful, there's a song to record tomorrow, so no drinking, no staying up late, and no eating anything too greasy, understand?"
"Hehe, oh my." Tiffany stood up, walked over to Kenzie, grabbed her arm and shook it. "Then, unnie, could you let Kang Yeon leave work early tonight too?"
Without turning her head, Kenzie reached out and put the listening earpiece back on: "No, I'm afraid you'll get him drunk."
"Unnie, do you think I'm that kind of person?!" Tiffany protested righteously, then reached out and pulled off the listening earpiece. "Unnie, you can rest assured, even if Taigu wants to drink with him, I will absolutely not allow it."
Upon hearing this promise, Kenzie smiled and crossed her arms, saying, "If it's just Taeyeon drinking with him, that's fine. After all, given her alcohol tolerance, I can handle it."
As soon as she finished speaking, Tiffany covered her mouth and laughed.
"Unnie, you're so mean! If Taegu hears this, he'll definitely glare at you again."
"She's been glaring at me for a while now," Kenzie waved her hand dismissively. "Alright, stop standing around. If you're going to the dinner party, hurry up and go. Don't keep me from working."
Tiffany chuckled and replied, then turned and took Yoona's wrist: "Let's go, Yoona, let's go to the dressing room first. I need to change my clothes; I've been wearing this outfit all day."
