Chapter 452 Ambiguous Attitude

Chapter 452 Ambiguous Attitude

Harry escaped successfully, and Voldemort flew into a rage.

Della sat at the long table, and Maggie, beside her, waved her wand lightly, just like her, deflecting the scattered green light. The other Death Eaters did not have this ability.

They ran towards the gate like madmen, hoping to get ahead of everyone else and not be among the unlucky ones falling one after another on the outer edge.

Della quietly shielded Lucius and old Nott from the attack.

Lucius Malfoy, needless to say, was a big troublemaker and "almost" destroyed a Horcrux. If it weren't for his high public profile, he might have been among the first to be purged. Plus, there was the failure of the prophecy orb, so naturally Voldemort didn't like him.

Old Nott, on the other hand, suffered because of Theodore's influence, having a son who sided with Della, and is now one of the people hiding from the curse.

It's not a problem to take care of my ex-boyfriend and current follower a little.

“Your wand looks quite nice,” Voldemort suddenly said to Della.

"Is that so?" Della subtly moved her hand closer to the wand. "It's alright. What suits you best is the best."

"Let me see, okay?" Voldemort reached out his hand to Dale.

“Don’t do that, Father,” Della said in a lighthearted tone, refusing Voldemort. “My wand is more inclined to favor the strong. If you use it like that, it will look down on me. Leave your daughter a way out, okay?”

“There’s nothing we can do, Della,” Maggie chuckled, glancing at the Death Eaters who had survived the ordeal. “Our father just loved to take care of us in every way.”

"Come see me too, Father?" Maggie continued, smiling as she offered her wand to Voldemort.

Avoiding, cooperating.

Picking on just one would seem like stirring up trouble.

Oh well, they'll eventually send him some clues that give him a reason to speak.

Voldemort, observing the different attitudes of Della and Maggie, slowly withdrew his hand. He calmly responded to Maggie's words, "How could I not care for you? My dear children, how are the engagement preparations going?"

The topic veered into something that embarrassed Maggie, and the only one who could answer the question was Della, who was being asked to prepare for the engagement ceremony.

The Death Eaters on the other side of the gate dared not breathe, their trembling eyes fixed on the family of three whose presence was now tinged with tension.

"We're planning it out, and we'll be making the purchases soon," Della replied calmly, putting away her wand.

"What kind of plan?" Voldemort raised his voice slightly. "I remember that your Abend is someone who has lived in the Muggle world for a long time, a Squib, so he should know a lot about the Muggle world."

If we were to name the most enviable person among all of them, it would undoubtedly be Leah Abend.

Her magical abilities were practically nonexistent, and the foreign wizards surrounding her were clearly arranged by the Riddle siblings. It could be said that she was a character entirely built up by the siblings.

Moreover, the job she's doing now is both safe and prestigious; any Death Eater would want her job.

If Voldemort is dissatisfied with Leah...

The Death Eaters stared intently, oblivious to the fact that Voldemort was mocking Della's affinity for the Muggle world.

“There’s nothing I can do even if I understand,” Della noticed the ambiguity in Voldemort’s last sentence. “I was too young back then, and I came from an orphanage. Without Leah, I would have been bullied terribly.”

In short, Della both answered Voldemort's question and helped stabilize Leah's position.

"What, does Father want my engagement ceremony to make the woman feel more comfortable?" Maggie said sarcastically.

"Or would it be better to be more elegant?" Della chimed in.

"It's up to you to decide," Voldemort said with a forced smile. "Whatever you do, it's your own choice."

“We?” Della chuckled and picked out the word. “Just say what you want to say, Father. If you want a pure-blooded grandson, I’ll be happy to cooperate.”

"Is that so?" Voldemort looked at Della scrutinizingly. "You have a pureblood boy you like?"

Lucius and old Nott, who were mixed in with the Death Eaters, both swallowed hard.

“Whether I like him or not is not important,” Della said with a smile, resting her chin on her hand. “Making Father happy is the most important thing. I also believe that Father will make arrangements that are good for me and for all of us.”

As soon as she said this, Della became the focus of everyone's attention. Voldemort and the Death Eaters were all pondering her words and guessing her intentions.

Is it irony?

—This has a long history with Della Riddle, who has always been known for her androgynous capriciousness.

Or is it to appease?

This is perfectly reasonable. Maggie, who was initially favored, fell behind and is now stepping up.

It's worth noting that Della Riddle has never shown any indifference to competition, and besides, many people don't know whether it belongs to her or Maggie.

The main issue is that the phrase "good for all of us" is too suggestive.

"My opinion is so important to you?" Voldemort's already narrow eyes narrowed even more, his gaze gradually shifting from Della to the expressionless Maggie.

“Who can say no to a wise and powerful person?” Della replied, smiling obediently.

Her words sounded both sarcastic and ingratiating.

The Death Eaters were even more confused, but Voldemort seized on a piece of information—this ambiguity indicated that Della's attitude had softened, and could even be interpreted as her leaning towards him.

Finally, Voldemort smiled slightly, "I will try my best not to disappoint you, Della."
