Chapter 693: Date With Lavinia [Part 2]
Chapter 693: Date With Lavinia [Part 2]
"Have you been here before?" Lavinia asked. "You seem to know a lot of places."
"This is my first time coming here," Alex replied. "Though, I did hear a few things about this city before we arrived."
"So you’re visiting all these places for the first time with me?"
"Yes."
Alex looked at his lover with a tender gaze. Lavinia loved it when he looked at her like this. It made her feel like he was only looking at her and no one else.
She had already prepared herself to share this wonderful person with her "sisters", whom he also wanted to stay by his side.
Yet, Alex and Lavinia weren’t aware that aside from Latifa and her Alters tailing him, there was one more group that was silently following them.
This group was led by none other than the young lady’s older brother, as well as Alex’s Master, Cairo.
Elaine and Efa were with him as the three watched the two of them from a distance.
"It seems that their relationship is really good," Elaine said with a smile. "Especially when the bride’s family is this supportive."
She then looked at Cairo, who stood on the branch of a tree with his arms crossed over his chest.
A faint smile hung on his lips, as if he was feeling truly happy that his sister had found a good man to become her lover.
Efa stood beside Elaine and watched Alex and Lavinia continue their stroll.
She was also smiling, showing that she was genuinely happy for Alex.
"I think we should stop here," Efa said. "If we continue to follow them, then we will definitely be discovered."
Elaine nodded. "You’re right. They seem to be headed to the center of the city. If we continue to follow them there, the guards might flag us as suspicious people."
Cairo agreed with his lover’s statement. "Alright. We’ll stop here."
The Catkin then jumped off the tree branch and landed beside Elaine. The young lady then clung to his arm and smirked.
"How about you and I go on a date instead?" Elaine proposed. "It has been a while, right?"
Efa chuckled. "Time for the third wheel to disappear. Enjoy your date, the two of you."
Cairo nodded and walked away with Elaine in order to explore the city of Everdawn together.
Meanwhile, Efa glanced in the direction where Alex was going before melding with the shadows.
Following him as a group was difficult. However, if it was only her, then it would be quite easy for her to observe them from a distance.

In another part of the city...
"Why are all of these souvenirs expensive?" Nessia grumbled.
"Maybe they are made to be sold for the nobles that will be visiting Faelarun during this special event," Charles commented. "It’s a pity, but maybe we can find some other stores that sell good souvenirs for a cheaper price."
Since both Charles and Nessia were commoners, they were very stingy when it came to money.
Nessia would always send half of her monthly stipend to her mother back in her village, while the other half would be put into her own personal bank account.
Of course, she would always keep a few gold coins for herself for her own needs.
This was why she readily accepted the allowance given to them as sparring partners for the First and Second Years, who would be participating in the fighting tournaments.
As for Charles, he always gave half of his stipend and anything he received to his Aunt Helen. Since she was the one managing the Sunveil Orphanage where his sister, Eris, was staying at, it was his way of supporting not only his sister, but the other orphans as well.
As for the other half, he put it into his savings account just like Nessia.
Since the two of them planned to marry in the future, having some savings early on would go a long way.
The two teenagers then glanced at Renard, who was looking at the souvenirs as if they owed him a debt of a thousand gold coins.
"Why are these things so damn expensive?" Renard grumbled. "Is this discrimination against commoners?"
Just like Charles and Nessia, Mr. I-have-trust-issues was also stingy when it came to money.
Though, since he wanted to buy a gift for the Saintess, Lady Celestria, and his friend, Melissa, Renard visited one of the highly recommended shops in the city where good souvenirs could be bought.
Suddenly, the chime of the door opened as more guests entered the store.
"Well, well, well... look who’s here," Caspian, who was Chuck’s brother, said in contempt. "No wonder why it stank the moment I entered this shop. It reeks of poor people!"
The teenage boy’s sidekicks laughed at the same time, looking at the "poor people" with mocking gazes.
"Why are all of you here?" Caspian asked. "Can you even buy anything from this shop? How about I buy them for you guys since everything here is cheap."
Renard took a step forward, but Charles and Nessia grabbed hold of his arms at the same time.
"Don’t," Charles said. "Let’s just go. We can’t cause trouble here."
Renard glared at Caspian in response, but no longer made a move to punch his annoying face. Any acts of violence here would reflect badly on them, after all.
Aside from that, if they damaged anything in the store, they might also be forced to pay them, which was something the three youngsters would not be able to handle.
"Good riddance." Caspian scoffed as Renard, Charles, and Nessia walked past them.
When the three had finally left the store, Charles and Nessia were finally able to sigh in relief.
Renard might have mellowed out a bit after spending time with them. Yet, both of them understood that once he lost control, he wouldn’t care even if the one receiving his fist was a noble.
It was at that moment that they came across a familiar place.
"Oh, so this is where you guys have gone to." Lapiz greeted her friends from the Endless Horizon Club.
Although she was an Elven princess, the people in the club didn’t treat her like a princess.
Instead, they treated her like a friend.
Even Princess Xenia, who had the same rank as her, talked to her casually. That was how Lapiz learned not to mind the etiquette that should be observed from members of the royal family when she was with friends.
