Chapter 145 Mystery
Chapter 145 Mystery
"What did you say?"
Mr. Diggory asked incredulously.
"That's my wand. I dropped it."
"You dropped it? Are you confessing? Your partner just said that the voice casting the spell was a man."
"That's enough, Amos! Who do you think you are talking to?"
"Is it possible that Harry Potter could summon the Dark Mark?"
Mr. Weasley spoke up angrily.
"Uh-Um... Sorry... I didn't mean to say..."
"Weren't you seated together in the first-class carriage?"
"I...I paid special attention to the scene where they invited people on the platform."
The witch named Sarah spoke.
He looked at his colleagues' surprised eyes with a blush, hurriedly explained, and then quickly got back to the topic.
"Could it be that she took the wand away from me at that time?"
Mr. Diggory nodded his assent.
"Yes, that's very likely! So in the final analysis, she is the most suspicious."
"Stand up, girl!"
Faced with the pressing attitude of Mr. Diggory and other Ministry of Magic personnel,
Harry was a little at a loss, and subconsciously wanted to help Draco up and stand in front of her.
Fortunately, Kingsley stepped forward in time.
"Amos! Sarah! You all saw her walk out, too."
"Didn't you notice anything was wrong?"
This reminder was like thunder, instantly stopping the surrounding wizards.
"The Imperius Curse..."
Mr. Weasley rubbed his brow, as if recalling bad memories.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione exchanged glances as he spoke the name of the spell.
They all heard many people present gasp.
"That's exactly what it looks like to be under the Imperius Curse."
"Although I don't know why, she was suddenly freed from the spell just now."
Kingsley explained calmly.
"But judging from the fact that Miss Malfoy is still unable to act independently after the curse was lifted—"
She was trying very hard mentally to fight it, and maybe she was exhausted physically.”
"What she needs most now is the company and rest of her family."
"Amos, you might be interested to know that Mrs. Malfoy has been helping care for separated wizarding families all night."
Mr. Weasley added at the same time.
"That Dark Mark thing..."
"Could it be possible that she was under a spell, and then summoned the Dark Mark?"
Mr. Diggory spoke a little hesitantly, as if he had accepted the fact that Draco might be under the control of the Savage Curse.
"I don't think a wizard this age is capable of such a thing."
"Perhaps someone cast a spell and used the savage spell to control her."
"In addition to wanting to frame someone, it's more likely that he wants to remind everyone of the connection between the Malfoy family and the Death Eaters."
Mr. Crouch, who had been silent for a long time, spoke, with some deep hatred in his tone.
"As for my house-elf, I have no idea why she's here."
"Maybe I should wake her up and ask her if she saw anything."
"She can't possibly see anything!"
"We did see her, but there were only four of us there at the time."
Hermione finally spoke up, having lost her patience. She had been glaring at Mr. Crouch the entire time.
Mr. Crouch looked at Hermione again with a cold look in his eyes, and the scene was awkward for a moment.
Then there was a snapping sound, and Harry was overjoyed to find that Dobby appeared with Pansy and Daphne.
-
"Draco!"
"Dobby?"
Pansy and Daphne rushed forward.
Harry reluctantly took the child who had regained consciousness in his arms.
But before the girl could speak properly, she was handed over to her two best friends.
"Harry Potter, sir!"
"Miss Draco called Dobby in front of the tent and asked Dobby to find Miss Parkinson and Miss Greengrass to help take care of the people."
Dobby said happily when he saw Harry, then his big ears drooped.
"But Dobby didn't see Miss Draco when he arrived..."
Dobby said, coming up to Draco.
It seemed as if some elf magic was used, and the color on Draco's face gradually returned.
"Daphne? Pansy?"
Draco spoke weakly.
As soon as he heard her speak, Mr. Crouch quickly came to the three daughters.
"Miss Malfoy..."
"Do you recognize me?"
For some reason, there seemed to be an apology in his tone.
"Mr. Crouch, I'm sorry to cause you any trouble."
Draco said softly while being supported by Daphne and Greengrass.
"No no, we are the ones who should apologize...I."
"Do you remember what happened?"
The apology is deeper and carries regret.
Harry, however, was confused as to what Mr. Crouch was apologizing for.
I thought Draco, who was always considerate, would notice the tremor in his tone.
But she was so tired that she just shook her head slowly and closed her eyes, as if the memories were enough to bring her pain.
"Ugh."
Mr. Crouch sighed and looked at Dobby.
"Elf, take the ladies back to their parents. No mistakes allowed."
" Dobby doesn't need to be reminded. Dobby will not let Miss Draco get hurt again!"
Then he bowed deeply to Harry, came to Draco, Pansy and Daphne, and disappeared.
-
Everyone was left staring at each other in bewilderment until Mr. Weasley spoke.
"Well, if you don't object, I'd like to take the children back to the tent to rest."
"Amos, that wand is probably no longer useful. Could you please return it to Harry?"
Harry took the wand from Mr Diggory and put it carefully into his pocket.
"Okay, let's go. Hermione!"
Mr. Weasley shouted, while Hermione was still staring fiercely at Mr. Crouch and the unconscious Winky.
"What will happen to Winky?"
Hermione said angrily.
"I do not know."
"How could he do this to her! She was under a spell, and he didn't even bother to treat her except to interrogate her—"
"Hermione, I totally agree with you. But now we have to get back to the tent. Do you know what happened to the others?"
As Hermione explained to Mr. Weasley, Ron whispered beside Harry.
"That's crazy! I still find it hard to believe that Malfoy could summon the Dark Mark..."
"They said she wasn't capable of that magic, weren't they?"
"Yeah...just, Harry, why on earth did your wand end up on her?"
"I don't know either..."
There were so many mysteries this evening.
Harry looked up, trying to find the constellation that shared Draco's name.
But it is still obscured by the pale green skeletons and snake bodies.
A strange light flashed, drawing out Harry's heart,
Draco's eyes were lifeless, and it seemed as if he would be swallowed by the darkness in the next second.
