Chapter 649 No Meeting

Seeing the boy's increasingly dazed expression, Tomatsu Yuka frowned in confusion and waved her hand in front of his face.

"What did Chun-kun see?"

"..." Jun Matsue lowered his head and drank the last of the ginger ale in his glass.

"I think I saw my senior."

"Senior?" The girl was taken aback, then her thin eyebrows furrowed even more deeply.

Regardless of her name, the only person whom Jun Matsue has ever addressed as "senpai" is Maki Yami.

"She's at Kasuga Station too?"

Tomatsu Yuka turned her head to look out the window, examining it carefully, but she couldn't find the familiar figure she once knew.

"Just entered the dessert shop." Jun Matsueda held the empty cup in his hand, sipping the ginger-scented air.

The girl stared at the other side of the road for a few seconds, then exclaimed, "Ah, I see it!"

"She really is a senior student."

The boy looked up.

The dessert shop across the street was just a small storefront, but its bright pink exterior was particularly eye-catching. Yamami Maki stood behind the bread shelf in the window, her face no bigger than a loaf of bread, yet she was exceptionally clear in Matsueda Jun's eyesight.

The senior's cheeks were noticeably thinner—when we bumped into each other at the coffee shop in Setagaya, her fragility was merely a reflection of her spirit, but now, standing across the street, the soft flesh on her face that the boy had once kneaded was nowhere to be seen.

The girl's temperament has changed a bit. She used to evoke images of a warm spring breeze, a lakeside with lush green grass, and tender willow branches. Now, however, she is like the chilly early spring, making even the hot wind outside the window lose some of its warmth.

After glancing at the senior student opposite her, Tomatsu Yuka turned her head to look at the boy's profile and asked a question casually.

"Should we go see her?"

"We're going to the dessert shop anyway, so we can ask her about university life."

"..." Jun Matsue turned to look at her. "Is that really what you think?"

The girl smiled. "Perhaps Jun-kun would like to do that?"

The boy picked up her half-empty glass of ginger ale and took a sip. "Sometimes I really admire your patience and determination..."

Tomatsu Tomoka playfully stuck out her tongue. "Doesn't Jun-kun have that plan?"

"Let's not go, we'll wait for my senior to come out before we go over." Jun Matsueda shook his head.

"Meeting would not do either of us any good."

So the two of them sat in front of the restaurant's floor-to-ceiling windows, watching the girl behind the opposite window casually pick up a loaf of bread and disappear into the crowd paying the bill.

A minute later, Yamami Maki pushed open the red-framed glass door of the dessert shop. Matsueda Jun, who was looking at her, subconsciously picked up the menu placed to the side and spread it out in front of himself and the girl next to him.

Tomatsu Yuka watched his actions with a smile. It seemed that her senior hadn't become just a stranger in Tsunku's heart, the girl thought regretfully.

I almost got mistaken for a stranger back then...

Maki Yami didn't leave immediately, but instead went into the coffee shop next door and bought a cup of coffee.

A few minutes later, Jun Matsue pushed open the restaurant door and saw a girl in a matcha-colored skirt walking towards the station with coffee and bread in her hand.

"Dinner is just bread and coffee? Not even hot..." The boy frowned.

No wonder you've lost some weight.

"Maybe it's because it's too hot in the summer and you don't have much of an appetite?" Tomatsu Tomohana walked over to him. "Sometimes I just eat bread and coffee to tide me over."

This is a lie; she just didn't want Jun-kun to think that his senior was pitiful.

"Shall we go?" The girl took the boy's hand. "Shouldn't Jun-kun go buy some snacks?"

"This store is very popular; you might miss out on the popular items if you stay too late!"

After taking one last look at her figure melting into the twilight in the distance, Jun followed her toward the dessert shop across the street.

It takes at least forty minutes to get from Kasuga Station to Kugayama Station, the closest station to her home. On the way back, Tomatsu Yuka leaned on the boy's shoulder, gazing intently at the night view outside the window. She took out her phone to check the time.

"It should only take about 20 minutes to get from Kugayama to Komaba Campus, which is an acceptable commute time."

Matsueda Jun looked at the swaying handrails in the carriage, "But the time to get to Hongo will double."

"So we still need to rent a place."

The girl continued his sentence, but the boy did not reply.

The two were going home on the same route. When the train arrived at Hamadayama Station, Tomatsu Yuka stood up and waved the paper bag containing cheesecake at the boy.

"I'll head back now~"

"Be careful on the road." Jun Matsueda smiled. "Remember to text me when you get home."

"Hmm!" The girl suddenly leaned down and sniffed his shoulder hard.

Tomatsu Tomoka looked up, revealing a sly yet considerate smile.

"You smell like me everywhere—be careful they don't recognize you!"

Caught off guard, the boy watched as she retreated step by step, turned around, walked out of the carriage, and waved to him from the platform.

“…This guy.” Jun Matsueda sighed helplessly.

Back at the apartment, it was already past 7:30. The first thing Jun Matsueda did upon entering room 507 was to put down the cake he was holding, and then head straight for the bathroom.

Yosuke Kurusu, who was on the sofa, turned around and looked curiously at the boy who was walking quickly.

"What is this for?"

"It's too hot outside, I'll take a shower first when I get back," he explained, turning and walking into the corridor.

Taking a shower doesn't take too long. When Matsueda Jun returned to the living room, Mochizuki Haruka was already sitting at the dining table.

Yosei Kurusu remained seated in front of the television, not turning around, and asked a question in a defiant manner.

"Didn't you say you couldn't handle it?"

"When did I ever tell you that?" The girl glared at the back of the figure on the sofa, then looked at the boy walking towards her.

"Songzhi came back very late," she complained.

Mochizuki Haruka came over because the boy came back a little late and didn't come to find her right away.

"I've gone to buy you some snacks." Jun Matsueda picked up a paper bag with the store's name written in English on it from the table.

"Raspberry and pistachio cake, one for each person, tastes pretty good."

So the girls gathered around and sat at either end of the long table, while the boys chose to sit in the middle.

"Don't forget to pack your luggage after you finish eating," he reminded the two. "Even though you're only staying at the orphanage for a few days, you still need to prepare a change of clothes."

“I’ve already got everything ready~” Yosei Kurusu said, looking up.

“…Okay.” Mochizuki Haruka replied reluctantly.

The fact that Yosuke Kuryu was also going to the orphanage made the girl a little unhappy.

While the two were eating their snacks, Jun Matsueda suddenly remembered something.

He took out his phone and searched online for information about "Denny's studio" and the holding company behind it.

"YM Music Entertainment, the music division of the Yamagami Group, owns many well-known artists and covers businesses such as record recording and distribution, and stage performances..."

If it were the Yamami family, would they be able to find a way to deal with the blacklist from SG agency?

Chapter 650 An Unsolvable Problem

The next day, the day to return to the orphanage, Jun Matsue got up quite early.

After emptying the last bit of food from the refrigerator, the boy ate breakfast with Kurusu Yosei, who had woken up after hearing the noise. He watched as the girl finished her glass of milk in one gulp, leaving a cute white mark on her lips.

"How about tidying up the house before you leave?" he suggested. "After all, it'll be empty for a few days."

"No problem~" Kurusu Yosei licked the milk stains off his lips, "Just consider it a different way to exercise!"

The two spent half an hour ventilating the house, sweeping and mopping, tidying up, and wiping away dust from every nook and cranny. Afterward, the girl shuffled to the bathroom in her slippers to take a shower, while the boy carried the breakfast he had left behind to the apartment next door.

He woke up the girl who loved to sleep in, and watched her groggily wash up and eat. Matsueda Jun glanced at his phone; it was 9:30, and below was a message from Aya-chan.

"I'm almost at Chun-ge's side~"

The boy looked up. "Time to get ready to go?"

Mochizuki glanced at him, then opened her mouth wide and ate the last spoonful of mixed vegetable and egg fried rice.

Five minutes later, Aya Miyamura, sitting in the black sedan, rolled down the window and waved to the three people walking downstairs from the apartment building.

Long time no see!

"It hasn't been a long holiday, has it?" Jun Matsue smiled at her.

"I meant Yang Shi-nee!" Aya rolled her eyes at him and opened the car door for the girls. "Hmm... how should we sit?"

Since the four of them were going back to the orphanage together, Mochizuki Haruka, who was too lazy to take the bus, used her own car. However, considering the children at the orphanage, she did not arrange for a luxury limousine, so someone had to sit in the passenger seat.

Matsueda Jun looked at Mochizuki Haruka beside him. The girl wasn't carrying a bag like him, because her luggage had already been packed and placed in the car by the maid.

Mochizuki didn't like being squeezed in the back row with others. Just as the boy was about to speak, the girl raised her chin at him.

"Songzhi, sit in the front."

He blinked in surprise, and Mochizuki Haruka watched as Kurusu Yosei got into the car and sat down next to Miyamura Aya.

“You’re the biggest.” She turned around and nudged the boy’s chest. “Don’t squeeze in from behind.”

“That makes sense.” Jun Matsue opened the passenger door, and the maid holding the steering wheel nodded humbly to him.

Watching the boy close the car door, Mochizuki Haruka was the last to get into the car. She leaned against the window, first looking at the boy's black hair in the front seat, and then at his striking pink hair reflected in the glass.

She didn't want Matsue and Kurusu Yosei to be squeezed together.

The car started smoothly, its black paint reflecting the dazzling sunlight, and disappeared into the road filled with the chirping of cicadas.

Because they still needed to buy gifts for the children, the four of them went to a nearby shopping mall before returning to the orphanage. Jun Matsueda walked at the back, watching the girls pick out gifts from the shelves.

Miyamura Aya came over with several boxes of crayons and put them in the cart in front of the boy. She looked up and blinked, looking mysterious.

"Brother Chun, don't you think that choosing a gift is the same principle as dating?"

"How so?" Jun Matsuoka raised an eyebrow.

"The gift must be something everyone likes, and everyone should get one. No child should feel favored..." the girl muttered, counting on her fingers. "Only in this way can everyone play together harmoniously, right?"

"...Why are you suddenly bringing this up?" The boy glanced at the girls in front of him. Yosei Kurusu was buying snacks, and Haruka Mochizuki was picking out picture books.

“Because I feel so sorry for Yosei,” Miyamura Aya said, leaning closer to him.

"She complained to me a lot that night, saying that I was biased, that I was put on a leash by Sister Yao, and that I wasn't soft-hearted when I should be, and not hard-hearted when I should be, and so on."

"..." Jun Matsueda's gaze drifted to the side. "You need to understand first, Kurusu is not my girlfriend."

"Doesn't Chun-ge like her?" the girl asked, blinking.

The boy didn't answer. Mochizuki Haruka walked over with a picture book, and Aya immediately shut her mouth.

"Is this enough?" the girl asked earnestly as she put a large stack of sketchbooks into the cart.

"That's enough, just go buy some more storybooks for the boys."

After the black-haired girl walked away, Miyamura Aya cast a questioning look at her again.

Jun Matsue waited a moment before speaking, "I can barely handle my two girlfriends right now, let alone a third."

"Is Chun-ge satisfied with things as they are now?" the girl asked immediately.

The boy looked at the pink-haired girl walking towards him, smiled calmly, and sighed.

"Don't ask anymore."

It was nearly noon, and the sun was blazing. When we returned to the orphanage, the children were sitting under the eaves enjoying the cool air. When the boys and girls carrying large bags appeared before them, a burst of joyful sounds erupted from the orphanage, briefly drowning out the cicadas chirping outside the walls.

"Is it really okay for Kurusu not to wear a mask?" Jun Matsue asked the elderly man next to him as he watched the girls hand out gifts.

“It’s alright,” the director said with a smile. “Not many of them know Miss Kurusu—and even if they do, they can’t get the message out without a cell phone.”

"That's good." Jun Matsue looked at her face. "Grandma's wrinkles seem to have gotten a bit deeper."
